Our Story
History Begins in 1923

1923

Founding

Barron Gift Collier, a prominent landowner and developer, purchased the land that would later become Collier’s Reserve. He was instrumental in the development of Southwest Florida, contributing to major infrastructure projects like the Tamiami Trail.

1992

Early Years

Collier's Reserve Community was established as a private residential country club on 450 acres of land along the Cocohatchee River. The land had been in the Collier family for decades.

1993

Key Figures

The club officially opened with its 18-hole Arthur Hills-designed golf course, the first-ever Audubon Sanctuary Signature Course. The initial club facilities included a Clubhouse, a Boathouse for casual dining, and 4 tennis courts.

1994-1995

Facility Evolution

Expansion continued with the completion of a new Clubhouse featuring dining rooms, locker rooms, and a fitness center.

2001

Founding

Collier Development Corporation transferred ownership of the Club and the Homeowners Association to the members and residents.

Present Day

Early Years

Collier’s Reserve remains a thriving private club, known for its environmental stewardship and dedication to healthy living, offering members an exceptional experience with its golf course, dining, and social activities.
